In team management
Evaluating, recruiting, giving feedback, leading a group: management biases.
Managers and teams judge all the time: candidates, colleagues, performance, past decisions. These judgements rest on few observations and personal stakes — an ideal ground for biases. They weigh on recruitment, annual reviews, promotions, delegation.
Two families: evaluation and feedback (how we judge) and relationship and motivation (what we expect of others and what we project onto them). Group biases, very present in meetings, are in the cross-cutting biases.
