About This Site
A personal resource site on critical thinking, organizational maturity, and SQL, written with AI assistance and clearly stated as such.
In brief
- For whom: project managers, managers, developers, and data leads who want to make decisions with fewer biases.
- AI: assisted writing, always disclosed; sensitive figures include a verification badge.
- Privacy: no cookies; anonymous traffic measurement, hosted by the site itself; a few preferences stored in your browser.
- Version: what the current version adds, and the version history.
What’s new in this version#
Current version: 1.3.1
Esprit critique#
Who this site is for#
The site brings together three sets of resources:
- Critical thinking: cognitive biases that can affect IT project management and team management, with real cases, methods to protect against them, and a measure of their scale.
- Maturity: matrices to identify where you are and decide where to go, for an organization or for a data product.
- SQL / T-SQL: thinking in sets rather than rows, with annotated examples and disaster cases.
It is intended for people who lead IT projects, manage teams, or build data products, and who want to make decisions with fewer predictable errors.
What sets this site apart#
- Each sensitive claim shows its review status: verified, partially verified, or pending, with a list of what still needs to be rechecked when you hover over the badge.
- Diagrams are readable on hover: each box includes a description, an example, or a pitfall.
- Its own metrics are published: the Site Health page shows status and progress, version after version, including what still remains to be done.
- It is built without external dependencies and refuses to degrade silently: how this site is built.
How AI is used#
A large part of the text was written with the help of generative AI, based on an outline and precise instructions, then reviewed and adjusted. This is not hidden: the site states it here and wherever useful (article verification badge, content signature). Author illustrations are program-drawn avatars (no photographs of people are reproduced); background photographs are royalty-free, stylized, with their source available when hovering over the “i” badge.
How content is verified#
Each article includes a verification badge: “verified” (facts, figures, and references checked), “partially verified” (main facts have been checked, with a list of items still to recheck, visible on hover), or “review pending.” Sources are cited at the bottom of each page. Figures reported from memory are marked as such. This badge indicates a review status, not a guarantee: a reference work or the original publication always takes precedence.
Privacy and accessibility#
- No cookies, no third-party services: chart libraries are hosted on the site. Only anonymous traffic measurement (Umami, cookieless, hosted on the site’s domain) counts page views, including error pages; it does not identify you and is not used for any advertising.
- The browser stores only your preferences: light or dark theme, open or closed menu, right panel, article reading mode, language, welcome conversation speed, levels entered in matrices. They never leave your computer.
- The site respects “reduce motion,” supports keyboard navigation, and provides each chart’s data in table form.
Report an error, request a correction#
An inaccurate fact, a figure to correct, a stronger source, a removal request concerning a person or company mentioned: write to us from the Contact page. Cited cases rely on public sources listed in each article, and wording remains cautious (“according to...”) when facts are debated.
Licenses#
Open-source components, photographs, and license texts are detailed on the Licenses and open-source components page.
